HOW TO MEASURE FOR A HARNESS

Hindquarters harnesses fit a wide range of dogs from Jack Russell Terriers to Puggles to Springer Spaniels to Labradors to Boxers to Sighthounds - and everything in between. We require 3 measurements to make a harness for your dog: lower neck, girth, and the distance between the two. Here are instructions and photos to help show how to measure your dog for a harness:

  1. Measure the circumference of the lower neck, at the top of your dog's shoulders, where a harness would naturally sit:

2. Measure the circumference of your dog's girth, a couple of centimetres behind their front legs:

3. Measure the point between the two, between your dog's front legs, as represented by the blue line below:

Designed to support your dog in all the right places, Hindquarters harnesses allow full shoulder movement, and give good control. For maximum comfort we use cotton webbing which is soft-to-the-touch with flex and give. Natural materials also avoid chaffing, and are kinder to the environment. The dog lead is attached at the nape of the neck and the supportive design gently discourages pulling, any pressure is borne equally and shocks or sharp pulls are absorbed by the webbing weave. As well as being comfy, cotton is strong and durable. The metalwork is made from marine grade steel so strong and reliable and even sea proof. Available in a race of sizes and colours, Hindquarters harnesses are easy to use and look after, just machine wash at 40 when mucky.
