Large Dog Beds

Deciding on the best bed for a large dog is a big decision. You will want to make sure your dog is comfy and fully supported - and make sure your own requirements in terms of practicality, durability and value are also met.

We think three things key in determining how comfy a dog bed is: shape, structure and stuffing. The shape should allow space for a big dog to fully extend, whilst being supported at the same time. Dogs have many different ways of sleeping and often shift around during a deep snooze. A good dog bed allows and supports a dog's main sleeping positions, typically: curling up in a ball, flat on their side, or stretching right out.

Hindquarters Large dog beds are designed to support a dog's core sleeping positions and are built for maximum comfort: an oval shape echoes the shape of a dog lying down and a central cushion is surrounded by a low bolster, giving support. These large dog beds measure 125cm by 85cm across the oval (the bolster is 30cm wide and the central cushion measures 95cm by 55cm). Good for Alsatians, Greyhounds, Saluki and other big. Or those who like to double up.

In terms of practicality, Hindquarters dog beds come with a removable cover that can be machine washed. All dog bed covers are made from natural materials, thick fabrics like denim or corduroy. The inner dog bed is sensible too: stuffing is encased in a tough and scratch-proof technical sports fabric that is both waterproof and breathable. Everything is machine washable.
